Greg Gallaher has been the senior pastor of Georgetown First since 2007 and leads its weekly worship, administers the sacraments, equips laity for ministry, prays and cares for the flock, and oversees the church’s administration and staff.
Greg has been married to his wife, Connie, for over forty years!
The thing he loves most about his ministry at Georgetown First is seeing the Holy Spirit’s transformational work in people’s lives through worship, prayer, study, and servant ministry. Jesus is Lord!
Andrew Singh has been the associate pastor for Georgetown First United Methodist Church (UMC) since June of 2011. Originally born in India, he moved to the United States when he was 16 years old.
Andrew and his wife Arpita love living in Georgetown.
Andrew especially loves connecting with people of all age groups, and seeing the power of God transform lives. Andrew is passionate about mobilizing the church to pray.
Shannon Shepherd is the receptionist at Georgetown First.
Shannon and her husband share four wonderful children together: Jackson (19), James (17), and Lexie and Riley (both 13).
Shannon enjoys getting to know more church members, and hopefully being a blessing to others as well.
Howard Miles is the business manager at Georgetown First.
In his free time, Howard enjoys spending time with his wife, Teresa, and their granddaughter, Layna. Howard also enjoys being outside as much as possible.
Howard loves serving our Lord, and helping His people. He truly brings this passion to his work at Georgetown First, and in his interactions with others.
Michael (Mike) Tevis is the facilities manager at Georgetown First.
Mike is an 11th generation Tevis on American soil. His ancestry includes French, German, Irish, Italian, Cherokee, and Shawnee descent. Mike’s Eastern Kentucky heritage includes coal miners, guitar players, preachers, and horse thieves.
During his time at Georgetown First, Mike has most enjoyed hearing the laughter of the redeemed.
Kathryn (Kat) Reed serves as Director of Youth Ministries at Georgetown First.
Kat was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She has one brother (Alex) and a sister-in-law (Jessica). In her free time, Kat enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Tyler.
Kat feels there are many blessings that come from working with Georgetown First. She thinks that there is nothing better than seeing a teenager start to “get it” and understand the Gospel on a deeper level, taking to heart its message and sharing this through words and deeds.
Director of Music Ministries, Sara Hall, has been on staff at Georgetown First since 2006.
Sara is married to Larry B. Hall, a retired United Methodist minister, and has two children and two grandchildren. Her hobbies in addition to singing and playing piano include reading, and cross stitch needlework.
Sara has spent her entire life being involved in some way with church music ministry. She is committed to serving God through music, and she views her talent as God’s gift to her so she may share with others.
Dr. Rachel Taylor serves as the pianist, organist, and accompanist at Georgetown First United Methodist Church. Rachel is the daughter of Edna Taylor, a lifelong church musician and public school music teacher.
Rachel lives in Georgetown with her husband, Mark Cleland, and their son, Taylor Crist Cleland.
Rachel enjoys traveling with her family, taking walks and interacting with her students.
Rebecca (Becky) Whittemore serves as Director of the Preschool/Kindergarten programs at Georgetown First.
Becky resides in Georgetown, and is proud to have been at the same job for 26 years. Becky and her husband Mark have three wonderful children: Adam and his wife, Jordan; Troy and his wife, Shelby; and Katie and her husband, Brandon. Becky and Mark are also proud grandparents to granddaughters Addison, Aubrey, and Kennedy Jo.
While serving in this position, Becky has most enjoyed watching the children grow over the years and developing relationships with many different families.
Marcus Price II serves as Assistant Youth Minister at Georgetown First. He is a senior at Georgetown College, studying both Religion and Philosophy.
Marcus and his fiancee, Haley Faye Snyder, will both graduate in spring 2018 and move to Lexington, KY, after their summer wedding. He will continue his education at Asbury Seminary to become an Ordained Minister in the United Methodist Church. She will study at UK to become a Family Counselor.
His core belief is in sharing the love of God through meaningful relationships.
Alex Broyles (pictured at left) has lived her entire life in Scott County and grew up at Georgetown First. She is a senior at Scott County High School. Her childcare experience includes volunteering for Vacation Bible School, babysitting her younger brother as well as his friends. She hopes this experience will help her to grow toward a career where she can continue to work with children.
Lori Baker (pictured in the center) is originally from Danville, Kentucky where she grew up attending Centenary United Methodist Church. She has been attending Georgetown First since the fall of 2007. She and her husband have two children. She is the Production Manager for the Georgetown News-Graphic. She enjoys being around children and feels blessed to have the opportunity to care for some of the youngest members of our church.
Kelley Marie Young (pictured at right) is a mother to her very own toddler, who is full of adventure and teaches her something new every day. She was baptized and confirmed as a child at Hillsboro United Methodist. She moved with her mom to Kentucky in 2001 and has lived in Georgetown since the spring of 2016. She has two associate degrees from Somerset Community College in Applied Science and Arts Business Transfer. She has worked for Lowes full time as a product service associate for 5 years. Kelley enjoys working with our youngest members and their families in the nursery.
