Georgetown First Preschool has earned a five-star rating from the Kentucky Department of Education by meeting the standards for Level Five in the Kentucky All STARS Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System! Congratulations to Paige Willhite, Director of Early Childhood Education, the Preschool Advisory Board and especially the dedicated teachers and staff. We are so grateful for each one of you.
Kentucky All STARS is Kentucky’s expanded five-star quality rating and improvement system for early care and education programs. Studies show that children who attend high quality early learning environments have better math, language and social skills. The unified system serves all early care and education programs that receive public funding including child care centers, Head Start and public preschool. Kentucky All STARS is based on Kentucky’s Early Childhood Standards and research-based indicators of quality. It recognizes programs that have made a commitment to continuous quality improvement. On the path toward higher quality, programs can benefit from supports including training, technical assistance and coaching.
At First United Methodist Church, we pledge to provide a quality curriculum in a fun, nurturing, Christian-led environment; preparing each child for academic success by building a strong educational as well as spiritual foundation.
Our preschool offers classes for children ages 2 years through 4 years old. Classes run from 8:45-12:30 and operate with the Scott County Schools calendar. Please contact the church office for more information.
The Kindergarten program offers a full day curriculum with class running Monday-Thursday from 8:45-3:00. Teacher/student ratios are 12-1.
Our curriculum is designed to enhance the development of each child through age appropriate activities. This will be done through chapel time, art, language, music, thematic units, and play. In addition, Kindergarten will place an emphasis on basic reading and math skills.
